50x70cm
The project reflects the Russian view on the phenomenon of beautiful women.
In this work, Aglaya was looking for an answer, is beauty a privilege or a burden? The peculiarity of this work lies in the fact that the perception of beauty in different cultures has a completely different character. So, for example, in English culture, beauty is a gift and a privilege, according to research by the Chicago Institute, beautiful women in America are more likely to be satisfied with marriage, get a job easier, and generally rated their condition as happier. At that time, a similar study in Russia at the University of Moscow State University showed no correlation between appearance and life satisfaction.
The reflection of the difference of cultures can also be seen in proverbs. An analogue of the Russian proverb "Do not be born beautiful, but be born happy." in English is "Better be lucky then rich".
