Research project consisting of texts - stories of heroines. And their portraits.
One of the fundamental foundations of Aglaya's practice is sincerity and nakedness in front of oneself and in front of the viewer. When you dig to where tears flow from touching the topic. But these are not tears of pain, but tears of life.
In this project, the artist invites the heroines to enter this territory with her. Each participant exposes her contradictory, painful, "shameful", maybe funny or other life path or experience, the one that she hides. Taking it off like an old jacket. When a vulnerability becomes a support, it is melted into a common strength. Each story is called like a flower, based on floriography. Let there be as many of them as there are types of flowers.
Then Aglaya draws each heroine as carefully as possible, and translates the portraits into engraving - drypoint and monotype. Creating diptychs of each portrait.
The project does not intend to tell who owns the stories, all the heroines reveal their secrets and their faces to the artist, and scatter them between other participants.
Below are podcasts of already recorded stories, the voice of the artist and texts.
